History
Child Evangelism Fellowship's presence in the Asia Pacific dates back to World War II when God gave Mr. J. Irvin Overholtzer, our founder, a global commission. His heart ached for the children of India, Japan, the South Seas - children he would never see except through the eyes of others.
Today, CEF is witnessing in many countries of the Asia Pacific region, which has a total population of 1.8 billion. There are still many of these children who are precious gems yet to be mined and cut to become sparkling jewels in and around our region.
You can help! Through your prayers, you can remember the millions of children, many neglected, homeless, and abandoned who are in need of God's love. Like you, we want to give them an eternal hope.
Whether the ministries are in free countries, closed countries or restricted countries, God's mandate is still the same, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).
Asia Pacific team leaders have come and gone. To some extent International Ministry has helped when there was no one available to fill the gap of Regional Director. The first Asian to fill the post of Regional Director was Rod Corgado from the Philippines. Upon his resignation, Mr. Jim Neigh from International Ministry served as our interim director until Rev. Tan Cheng Huat, another Asian became the full time director on May 1, 1997.
