Training Updates in the Region Apr-Jun 2006
This year began in
Cambodia for a CMITM.
The first week was the
preschool course with 20
students including ten staff
and three others who
came for the second time.
During the practicum, the
students taught in a
preschool and reached 69
children, with 35 making
decisions for Christ.
For the CMI weeks, nine
staff graduated and
received their diplomas.
There were two more
practicums, one teaching
3-Day Clubs. Praise God
for 123 children enrolled
and for 34 who received
the Lord Jesus as their
Savior. One club was
held by a railroad track
where the people live right
next to it. There were so
many children — so many
needs. We also went to a
school and orphanage to
teach the Watermelon
Party Club. The children
really enjoyed and the
students did a great job
teaching, as always.
Myanmar was the next
course for CEF staff, with
other staff as the
Instructors. It was held
out where it was cooler,
and was like a retreat for
the staff. Some of them
even brought their
families. All enjoyed the
time even as they spent
much of it studying and
preparing.
Australia was next. The
Institute was canceled, but
we held a Teaching
Children EffectivelyTM
(TCETM) Level 1 for
students mostly Indonesians
and one Fijian. As these
students begin their Good
News Clubs®
(GNCTM)
there will be more children
who will be reached with
the Good News.
Meanwhile, Jeremiah,
Korean missionary in Sri
Lanka conducted a TCE 1
for his staff and volunteers
in a compound right by the
ocean. What a blessing to
see so many workers being
raised up in Sri Lanka who
desire to see the children
reached for the Lord.
Singapore also wanted a
TCE Level 1, and the
students from the last
CMI were the instructors.
What joy to note the
teamwork and unity of
the Instructors. At the
closing, two students gave
testimonies of how God
convicted them of the
needs of the children, even
as they shared the Message
of Salvation with their own
children and nephews.
Two students from the last
TCE in Malaysia shared
how God has been using
them to reach children
these last months. It was
truly a celebration time –
God is faithful and children
are being reached.
