Training Updates in the Region Oct-Dec 2005

It is always with joy that I share with you updates of how the Lord is blessing our training ministry in the region.

Cambodia

Last July, we did the Preschool Course in Cambodia where we had 22 students. Praise God for 17 preschoolers who received the Lord Jesus when we went out to teach. The week after the Preschool Course, we had Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA™) training for the staff to prepare them to train teenagers to teach Clubs. At the end of the week, we did open air evangelism in the beach where the staff talked to 75 children and 59 asked Jesus to be their Savior. Thank God for raising up a wonderful group of young people to work with Mrs Lee, the National Director.

Saipan

After Cambodia, I flew to Saipan to do a Teaching Children Effectively™ (TCE™) 1 with a Filipina who is living there. She is a graduate of one of the Institutes in the Philippines. We had six students. Two were Police women who said they wanted to do more than work with people committing crime. They want to help them know the answer to their problems. One cried as she shared her heart and how God had shown her that she is to reach the children in her neighborhood. The students reported of 121 unreached children in their neighborhoods, and several of them will begin teaching GNC. When went out to do open air, they contacted 18 children, 10 of whom invited Jesus as their Savior.

Meanwhile, the Preschool course was held in an outreach country with 22 students who taught 68 children. God be praised for 20 of them who professed faith in Jesus.

Thailand

In Thailand, Prem, National Director, along with her board wanted to have the Institute this year in the CEF office in Chiang Mai. It is a wonderful facility with lots of rooms for the students. Many tribal young people came to take the TCE 1 course. We were having a great time BUT…it rained and rained and soon the river went over its banks and Chiang Mai was flooded. The CEF office was nearly three feet under water, the motorbikes as well as some furniture were ruined. Good thing the files and visuals were moved upstairs and kept safe. But it was just too much to continue so next year, the Institute will begin again. Please pray.

Philippines

In the Philippines, they had their annual Institute from August to October. There were 12 full time students, but for two weeks there were 15 taking the Instructor of Teachers Course. Nine of them will be full time CEF workers. During the earlier weeks of training, students did open air and taught 4-Day Clubs. A total of 323 children were reached with the Good News where there were 148 professions of faith in Jesus Christ.

What a blessing to see so many children reached and teachers trained. Indeed, there is much rejoicing in heaven for many children being saved around the region. To God be the Glory!
